The Courtyard House

The Courtyard House is a group of eight buildings surrounded by a cedar forest. Situated on a flat terrain, the Courtyard is in a lush environment. The designer makes a reasonable use of the site's superiority, aiming to pay homage to the tradition and human spirit of New England.
业主是一对有着明确设计需求的夫妇，他们想要在一处安静且富有田园风情的地方建造一个配置独立客房的家庭式度假胜地。这就意味着，工作室需要为他们设计一处既能满足居住的客观条件又能远离城市喧嚣的居家之所。
The owners were a couple with a clear design need to create a family resort with individual rooms in a quiet and idyllic location. This meant that the studio needed to design a home for them that could meet the objective conditions of living while being away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
基于业主的特殊需求，Workshop APD为住宅设计了一系列连续性的结构，外部沿用楠塔基特岛的传统建筑特色，内部则运用了具有现代性的设计语言。工作室创造了一个由优美的花园和游泳池所围合、朝向天空和向内聚焦的建筑形式，使这个家庭式度假之所令人耳目一新。
Based on the client's specific needs, Workshop APD designed a series of continuous structures for the house, with traditional Nantucket architectural features on the outside and modern language on the inside. The studio created an architectural form surrounded by a beautiful garden and swimming pool, oriented towards the sky and focused inward, making this family vacation place refreshing.
无论经过哪间小门房，总能从某个特定的角度可以看到这个建筑群，因为建筑的尖顶在绿植中显得格外突出。这八座小建筑，每一座都可以通向中央庭院，共享庭院内宽敞的游泳池。设计师在每座建筑中，都引入了“智能海滩小屋”的理念，同时使用了柔和的自然色调和多层次的、奢华的材料营造舒适的居住氛围。
No matter which small gatehouse you pass, you can always see the complex from a certain Angle, because the spire of the building stands out from the greenery. Each of the eight small buildings opens onto a central courtyard and shares its spacious swimming pool. In each building, the dzesigners have introduced the concept of "smart beach huts", while using soft natural hues and multi-level, luxurious materials to create a comfortable living atmosphere.
