根据建筑师的描述。接近安特卫普De Coninckplein的地方，我们发现一个大型封闭的住宅。这个特殊的住宅相比较我们看到的其他附联式住宅有很多不便之处，它的初始状态完全没有达到舒适生活的标准，因为它起建于50年前，而标准在过去50年中不断发展着。
From the architect. Close to the up and coming De Coninckplein in Antwerp we find a large, enclosed property. This particular house shares the discomforts we see in so many other attached buildings. In its original state, the house did not live up to the standards of comfortable living as they evolved over the last 50 years.
由于这个原因，原本建筑的洗衣间、厨房、卫生间、门廊和其它区域一直延伸到花园，像衰老身体上的恶性细胞。我们要把这些和其它难看的东西都从这个建筑剥离，回归到一个更纯净的几乎没有装饰的建筑。
For this reason the laundry room, kitchen, toilet, porch and other areas were extended towards the garden like malicious cells on an aging body. These and other eyesores were stripped from the building to get back to a more pure, almost naked structu
所有楼层都进行了完全彻底的改造，优化了可利用的空间，引进了现代功能。建筑后面乐趣十足的甜橙温室和花园相连，就像一个低调优雅的棚屋。
A full and thorough renovation on all floors optimizes the available space and introduces contemporary functionality. The playful orangery in the back of the building opens up towards the garden as a restrained but elegant box.
